Basic has such a bad rap these days, but you know what? I like basic. Always have always will. I think my basic-ness dates all the way back to the Michael Star days of old. One of those sparkly little tees and a jean skirt was a real solid 7th grade dance outfit. Maybe add on the platform white Steve Madden's and you were feeling pretty fly awkwardly hovering with a group of girls wearing the exact same thing, ferrr sure jamming to KC and JoJo in your middle school gym. Those were the days alright.
Now that I am in my 30's (OMG), my love for basics has evolved past Michael Stars and Lauren Conrad (girlfriend was the thing circa Laguna Beach/ The Hills) and on to cooler things like cashmere sweaters and really over-priced tees (they last for like so long). In this edition of "Not Your Basic's Basics," I'm giving you run-down of the best everyday tees and tops. With these guys in your arsenal, you can safely dress yourself all year long without doubting your coolness level for even a second. Here are your elevated basics.
