Ok, let's pretend for a second that my kids' bedtime routine goes like this. After eating (I am putting eating in italics, because while served these foods, it's a rare occasion that three out of three will actually eat the food on their plates) a well- balanced meal filled with nutritious vegetables, my kids say thank you for dinner Mom and clear their plates without being asked. They then proceed to the bathroom where we start the bath, they play nicely together for a few minutes and then allow me to wash their hair without any argument. At this point they hop out of the tub, brush their teeth and hair without any objection, put on their pajamas, get into bed, and quietly listen to stories as they drift off to sleep. Is this anyone's bedtime reality? I always start with good intentions, but generally speaking bedtime around here consists of bribes, empty threats, and usually some yelling, if not from my kids then definitely from me. Reality bites.
Moral of the story, while fairytale bedtimes might not happen around here, and I certainly can't give you any life-changing advice about how to ease the bedtime melt-downs at your casa (although I will say the occasional dose of melatonin never hurt anyone), I can give you some really fun bedtime extras. From pajamas to detangler, I've got cutest bedtime accoutrements around so that at least when your 3 year- old is asking for her 4th glass of water she'll look really freaking cute. Good night and good luck my friends.
